If pregnancy or the years since have reshaped your breasts and midsection, you may be weighing whether to address both together. In my Ann Arbor practice, that is a plan we build around you, not a package. This page is a starting point for that decision.
A mommy makeover is not one standard operation. It may be a single procedure or a customized combination, focusing on your priority areas. Most plans involve breast surgery, a tummy tuck, or both. Sometimes, it involves simply addressing a tethered C-section scar. Many combinations are possible based on your needs: a breast lift with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), with or without liposuction; an arm lift (brachioplasty) with a breast lift or an abdominoplasty; or a breast reduction with an abdominoplasty. Your plan is built around your priorities.
Breast options might include a breast lift, an augmentation (with implants or fat grafting), or a reduction. Sometimes liposuction is recommended to contour nearby areas.
The exact combination is something we decide together, never a fixed menu. For example, if breasts are not an issue for you, but your arms are, we can discuss brachioplasty instead.
At your consultation I look at the whole picture, not only the procedures you have in mind:
Goals & Anatomy: We talk through what matters most to you and what surgery can and cannot change.
Health & History: We review your medical conditions, medications, allergies, prior surgery to optimize your safety.
Timing: We do our best to work around your schedule to find the right time for surgery, taking into account your recovery needs.

A consultation is the clearest next step. Dr. Ambani offers both in-person and virtual consultations. Together you will talk through your goals, review your options, and decide whether to combine, stage, or wait.
You leave with a plan that fits your needs and priorities. When you are ready, reach out and we will help you plan your consultation with Shoshana Ambani Plastic Surgery.
Recovery depends on which procedures are in your plan, so no single timeline fits everyone. Early recovery often spans about two to three weeks. A fuller return to normal activity usually follows over six to eight weeks.
When abdominal surgery is involved, many patients with desk or light-duty work plan for about two weeks away. Physically demanding jobs may need more time or lighter duties. Heavy lifting, including your children, and strenuous exercise usually wait about 6 to 8 weeks, or until I clear you.
Recovery often involves dressings, a support garment, activity limits, and follow-up visits with our team. If drains are used, they are temporary. I remove them based on your healing, often within a week or two. Combining procedures can fold your downtime into one recovery, while staging spreads it across separate ones. I will help you choose the right path for you.
Shoshana Ambani Plastic Surgery is a cosmetic, self-pay practice, and we do not bill insurance for this care. Because a mommy makeover is customized, its cost reflects the procedures in your plan.
Cost also depends on the surgical setting, the anesthesia, whether implants are involved, and the time in surgery. For that reason, I do not post a single figure. We review an itemized estimate with you once your plan is set, and can walk through financing your care.

It varies, because the price reflects your plan, not a package. The procedures, setting, anesthesia, and operating time shape the total. We share an estimate after consultation.
Often, yes, usually more than one. Your plan may combine breast surgery and a tummy tuck, or another procedure catered to your needs.
No. It is contouring, best planned after your weight settles. Later weight change or another pregnancy can affect your result.
It varies, and timing is personal. It is often best to undergo surgery when you are done having children, when your hormonal levels have reached an equilibrium, and at least 6 months after the completion of breast milk production.
Not necessarily, since your plan shapes them. Common risks include bleeding, infection, delayed wound healing, fluid collections, scarring, and changes in sensation. Implants can add risks such as implant rupture or hardening of the normal capsule that forms around the implant (capsular contracture), and a rare implant-related illness called BIA-ALCL. Also, since implants are not lifetime devices, you may require implant revision surgery in the future. We review the full list and FDA screening at consultation.
Your health must be optimized prior to any elective surgery to minimize your risks of complications. Diabetes or another condition does not automatically rule surgery in or out. We will partner with your other providers as needed to ensure your safety if we decide to proceed with surgery.
