It is a “neurotoxin” or “neuromodulator.” Dr. Ambani likes to use neuromodulators to temporarily relax selected muscles, thereby softening expression lines and wrinkles, while preserving a natural, expressive face.

Introduction
Botulinum toxin is a neuromodulator. It freezes muscle movement, so it is suited to dynamic lines created by repeated expression, and in doing so, softens static lines and wrinkles. It does not replace lost volume, and it cannot remove loose skin.
Dr. Ambani evaluates your face at rest and in motion, then decides whether a neuromodulator, filler, surgery, or no treatment fits the concern. Brand selection is confirmed at consultation based on what the practice carries and what suits the plan.

Treatment is performed in the office and most patients return to routine quickly.
Temporary redness, swelling at the injection sites, tenderness, and bruising can occur immediately after injection. Asymmetry and headaches can also occur after the neuromodulator starts taking effect and are often only temporary.
Effects begin over 5-7 days and settle further over the following one to two weeks. Duration varies by patient, treatment area, and dose injected.
Risks to discuss: Possible risks include bruising, discomfort, headache, temporary asymmetry, unwanted muscle weakness, a drooping brow or eyelid, dry eyes, allergic reaction, and rare effects beyond the treated area.

Thoughtful answers
These answers are general. Your consultation is where Dr. Ambani applies them to your anatomy, health, and goals.
No. A neuromodulator reduces selected muscle movement. Filler adds volume beneath the skin.
Results are temporary and often last 2-4 months, depending on the individual and the dose injected. In other words, the interval varies by product, area, dose, and individual response.
Dr. Ambani’s aesthetic leans towards maintaining facial expressions while minimizing or removing the static lines and dynamic wrinkles. However, some clients do not want to have any facial expressions after treatment. Dr. Ambani will consider the client’s goals either way. Dose and placement are judiciously planned as such.
The practice provides the cosmetic injection of Botox and other neuromodulators. Botox can be applied to the glabellar region which not only improves brow furrows or the “11” lines; this can secondarily improve migraines that start from the brow area. Botox can also be applied to the masseters for jawline slimming, which secondarily improves clenching symptoms. You can also ask Dr. Ambani about using neuromodulators for neck slimming (“Barbie tox”), neck or platysmal bands, and hyperhidrosis or profuse sweating from the palms or armpits. “Lip flips” are another popular demand, involving Botox injection to the upper or lower lips. Lip flips can complement filler injections but are not for everyone. Allow Dr. Ambani to guide you on making this decision.
