Fat Grafting

Fat grafting moves fat from one part of your body to another. Facial fat grafting and breast fat transfer share the same basic steps, but the goals, volume, recovery, and limits are different.

How Dr. Ambani helps you choose

THE EXAMINATION CONSIDERS

  • Your primary concern and what is causing it.
  • Your anatomy, tissue quality, health, and prior treatment.
  • The tradeoffs in scars, recovery, maintenance, and risk.

HONEST GUIDANCE

Procedure names can sound interchangeable online. They are not. Dr. Ambani begins with the problem you want to solve, then explains which option fits and which ones do not.

Waiting or choosing no treatment remains a valid outcome of the consultation.

Thoughtful answers

Common questions

Use these comparisons as a starting point. The individual procedure pages contain more detail.

Where does donor fat come from?

The donor area depends on your anatomy and available fat, and it is selected during planning.

Does all transferred fat survive?

No. Some fat is naturally reabsorbed, and retention varies.

Is fat grafting permanent?

Some surviving fat can be long lasting, but aging and weight change still affect the treated area.

Does fat grafting require liposuction?

Yes. Liposuction collects the fat, so both a donor site and a recipient site heal.
